Who we are

A small-batch coffee roastery in Kushalnagar, Kodagu.

We buy green coffee from growers we know by name, roast it twelve kilos at a time, and get it into your kitchen while it is still at its best.

What we do

Honest coffee, traced from the farm gate.

Taproot Coffee roasts single-origin Indian arabica and robusta for people who care where their cup comes from. Every lot is traced back to the farm gate — grown under silver oak and rosewood shade in Chikmagalur and the Baba Budangiri hills, hand-picked at full ripeness, pulped, fermented and dried slowly on raised beds, then roasted to a profile built for that specific harvest. We roast in small batches every week, cup every roast before it is allowed out of the door, and ship whole beans or ground to order from our roastery in Kodagu.

Alongside the coffee we run a storefront and brew bar in Kushalnagar, and we supply cafés, bakeries, restaurants and offices across Karnataka through standing wholesale accounts. Nothing we sell is blended to hide a defect or padded with filler: if a lot does not cup well, it does not go out.

The roastery

Who it is for

Home brewers who want a bag that tastes of something specific. Cafés and restaurants looking for a supplier who will talk about extraction, water and shelf life with them. Wholesale and stockist partners who want traceable coffee with a real story on the bag. And anyone curious enough to sit at the bar and ask what is on the grinder this week.

Who builds it

Taproot Coffee is run by a small team in Kodagu — roasters, baristas and green-coffee buyers who spend their weeks cupping, packing and delivering. The company sits within Srikanth Commodities, a family business rooted in Karnataka's coffee country, and this website is built and maintained in-house alongside the coffee.
